Booking a course

A course can run many times. What you book is a course round: a set number of sessions with a start date, a price and a number of places. The agreement is with the organiser, not with Fidova. We run the platform the booking is made on and never receive a course fee. That comes back in almost everything below, so it is worth carrying with you.

Finding the right course

Open Courses to see what is on offer. You can search freely, filter by place, category, level, price and minimum rating, and sort by date, price, rating or nearest first. The How we rank link above the results explains what each sort does. The course page carries the description, the level, where it is held, who holds it and which rounds can be booked. The price is per participant and includes VAT. At the bottom is the About the seller box. It lists the organiser's company form, organisation number, address, email and phone, their cancellation terms and their own terms for the course. That is where you find the contact details if you want to ask something before booking.

What you need first

You need an account and at least one dog added. A booking is made for a specific dog, because the dog is the one taking the course and the trainer needs to know who is coming. If you have not added a dog yet you can add one in the middle of the booking. You are not thrown out of the flow and you come back to the same course. With several dogs you choose which one the booking is for. A dog can only hold one active place in the same round.

How the booking works

Pick a round and a dog, and read the box before you confirm. Two things always need an active answer from you. You state to the organiser that the dog is vaccinated as the course requires. If the organiser has listed which vaccinations are required they are shown here; otherwise you have to ask them. Fidova checks no vaccination certificates and stores none, only what you stated and when. You also accept the organiser's own terms. They are stored as they looked when you booked, so a later change by the organiser does not affect your booking. If the course begins before your withdrawal period has ended there is a third question: that you want it to begin while you still have your right of withdrawal. If you withdraw after the course has started, you then pay for the sessions you have received. There is more on this under Cancelling, withdrawing and getting money back. The same box says you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the booking.

Right after booking

The place is reserved the moment you book. It is not confirmed until the payment is, and that is the difference between Reserved and Confirmed on your booking. The booking lands under My bookings with a payment card showing the amount, the organiser's Swish number, a QR code and a reference. You can pay straight away or come back later. You get a confirmation email with the booking details and a withdrawal form. You do not need the form to withdraw, the button on the booking is enough, but the law says you are to be given it.

If the course round is full

When every place is taken you can join the queue instead. You see your position, both as you join and on the booking afterwards. When a place frees up it is offered to whoever is at the top of the queue, and held while they decide. You get a notification with a deadline to answer by, usually a day and shorter if the course starts soon. Say yes and the place is yours. Say no and you leave the queue. Let the deadline pass and the place goes to the next in line. A queue position is not a booked place. You pay nothing while queueing, and course materials unlock only once the booking is confirmed. The fourteen-day withdrawal period starts when you accept, not when you joined the queue.

Who you are buying from

The organiser is the seller and a business, so Swedish consumer protection applies to your booking exactly as it does to any other purchase of a service. The organiser is responsible for the course: that it happens, for the content and the safety, for cancellation and refunds, and for answering you when something goes wrong with what you booked. Fidova is responsible for the platform: that your account works, that the booking is registered, that notifications arrive, and for how your personal data is handled with us. A person on our team reviews every new organiser before they go public, and if the organiser has an organisation number we look it up at Bolagsverket. We do not assess their methods, competence or safety, and an organiser being here is not a recommendation from us.
